The cook Amanda Freitag started her culinary career as a bus girl. In high school, her home economics teacher suggested she attend the Culinary Institute of America. She did, and as Freitag describes it, the campus was “cooking heaven” – and she loved it. After graduating, she worked her way through several top kitchens in Paris and New York. It was her vast dining experience that enabled her to regularly review Food Network’s “Chopped” and co-host “American Diner Revival”. Friday joins CBS This Morning: Saturday to share recipes from The Chef Next Door: A Professional Chef’s Recipes for Fun and Fearless Home Cooking.
