Conor McGregor’s trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier ‘is scheduled to take place on July 10th’ … with the hope that May 10th will be dead in the water after a delay in the settlement between two fighters
- Dustin Poirier knocked out Conor McGregor in the second round in January
- That fight came more than six years after the Irishman defeated The ‘Diamond’.
- Now reports in Georgia claim that their third and decisive battle will take place in July
- Poirier announced last month that he was planning to fight The ‘Notorious’ in June or July
Conor McGregor’s trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier is reportedly slated for early July in Georgia.
The Irishman returned to the Octagon in January after a year without a UFC but was knocked out early in the second round by Poirier.
The fight took place more than six years after their first fight, which lasted less than two minutes in September 2014, when The Notorious won on the main map at UFC 178.

But now reports in Georgia claim that there is hope that their third and decisive fight will take place on July 10th.
Journalist Giorgi Kokiashvili, who writes for the official UFC affiliate in Georgia, wrote, “I don’t want to alarm you, but according to Adjarasport TV and my sources, Poirier vs. McGregor 3 is being targeted for July 10th.”
The news comes after reports from ESPN earlier this month that any chances of a fight in May were dashed after an agreement between the two parties lasted longer than expected.
They also insisted there was no hope of a fight in June as Brazilian Deiveson Figueiredo would face Brandon Moreno on the 12th of that month.

“There was once a hope that the McGregor-Poirier 3 bout would be over on May 15, but it took longer than hoped / expected so they picked up on it a while ago, sources say,” said Ariel Helwani by ESPN. ‘Will not happen on June 12th (Figueiredo-Moreno on this card) so the last hope is the July 10th card. We will see.’
Poirier himself announced last month that he wanted the trilogy fight with McGregor to take place in June or July but insisted that after his stunning knockout in the second round at UFC 257 it would be a “completely different fight” .
‘June July. My wife’s birthday is just around the corner, we’re going to go somewhere for a few days, ”said the“ Diamond ”to Joe Rogan’s podcast.
The fight will not take place on June 12th as Deiveson Figueiredo will face Brandon Moreno
“When I get the call and it’s time to go to work, I’ll lock myself in at training camp. But I’m still not ready to go back to Florida for a month, a month after the last fight and lockdown for another ten weeks or whatever.
“It’s a struggling man, I don’t think you ever really (have someone’s number). He will make adjustments. It’s going to be a completely different fight.
“As the first and the second were different, the third will be different. I will also make adjustments. I’ll turn it up, keep things fresh, and let him guess. ‘
